Actiwhite is a whitening ingredient that reduces melanin production and lightens age spots

Characteristics of the ingredient and specific uses

INCI: Maltodextrin, Sucrose Dilaurate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Pisum Sativum (Pea) Extract

Dosage (percentage of input into cosmetics): 2 %. Do not use undiluted on the skin. Solubility: in water at a temperature up to 80 C.

Usage: dissolve in water. Activate is stable at pH 4.0 - 7.0.

pH (2% solution) : 5.4

Storage: it is recommended to store in a dark place at 15-25°C, protect from direct sunlight.

Use of Activite in cosmetics

Activite brightens the skin and gives it a youthful glow, as it evens out the complexion, fights against age spots and freckles, and reduces melanin production. Brightening age spots is based on reducing the production of melanin present in the skin. Activite prevents its formation and reduces its transport.

Many depigmentation ingredients act on the formation of melanin by inhibiting tyrosinase, some of them combine both a fast effect and compliance with Asian regulatory requirements and are even highly tolerant to the skin. But these recognised substances are either unstable in a cosmetic product, cytotoxic like hydroquinone, or even have sensitising effects such as kojic acid. These drawbacks laid the groundwork for the creation of a brightening ingredient without the aforementioned disadvantages.

The German manufacturer Actiwhite has chosen a new target involved in melanosome and melanin biogenesis: the PMEL-17 gene. Based on this, Actiwhite inhibits melanosome maturation by reducing the expression of PMEL-17 gene and deactivates tyrosinase.
