Cosmetic properties of the oil

Apricot oil is widely used in cosmetology as an emollient, nourishing and regenerating oil. It is used for skin care around the eyes to get rid of wrinkles. Mixtures are prepared with it to care for eyelashes and eyebrows. Most of the exceptional cosmetic properties of apricot oil we get thanks to its composition.

Oleic acid (omega - 9), which is contained in apricot oil, is an excellent moisturizer, softener and enhancer, simply put, a conductor of other useful substances deep into the skin. The peculiarity of this acid is that it penetrates into the skin more slowly, but also more deeply, which is why apricot oil is so popular in massage mixtures and nourishing masks.

The second place in the fatty acid composition of the oil is occupied by linoleic acid (omega - 6), it provides the strength of the skin and significantly improves the condition of the skin, improving the barrier function and being part of ceramides 1. An important sign of healthy skin is the optimal ratio of linoleic and oleic acids - this is the secret of the popularity of apricot kernel oil. Also linoleic acid makes this oil light and suitable for oily and combination skin.
