Soap base Liquid Crystal Concentrate (LCC) is a delicate blend of anionic and non-ionic surfactants with foam enhancers, stabilizers, conditioning additives for skin and hair. That is, in fact, it is a full-fledged mixture of surfactants, very light and easy to use. It has a neutral pH value, allows you to get many variants of viscosity, forms a creamy foam, which is easily and completely rinsed off.
Applications: shower gels, shampoos, bath foams.
pH (undiluted): 6-7
Viscosity: max. 6000 cps at 25°C
Directions for use:
Mix LCC with water , add fragrance, colorant, preservative and thicken the product with common table salt. LCC provides high activity in the range of 20 to 30% input.
Example recipe:
1. Water up to 73%
2. LIQUID CRYSTAL CONCENTRATE 25%
3. Preservative 1% (or according to your preservative dosage)
4. fragrance 1%
5. Adjust pH (citric acid to lower pH )
6. Liquid colorant as needed
7. Salt for thickening as needed
Precautions: do not use as a detergent undiluted to avoid skin irritation.
Directions for use
Add and stir Liquid Crystal Concentrate and other ingredients. Prepare water. Slowly pour in the LCC while continuing to stir. Next, introduce all additives: oils, fragrances, colorants. Make sure the product is well mixed before adding each subsequent component. To accelerate the dissolution of the components, use water heated to a temperature of 30-40°C.
pH adjustment. The base has a pH close to neutral and adjusting the pH of your final product is not necessary. If you wish to adjust the pH, have a laboratory test done beforehand. The most convenient way to lower the pH is with a 20% citric acid solution. Raise it with a 10% sodium hydroxide solution. Stir thoroughly until completely homogenized. Adjusting the pH may cause a change in the viscosity of the product, so it should be adjusted before thickening the product.
Preservation. This base contains a preservative to protect against microbiological contamination, but after dissolution, the concentration of the preservative is insufficient and it is necessary to add the required amount of a suitable preservative to the finished product. All water-based cosmetic detergents, including bath foams, shower gels and shampoos, are susceptible to microbiological contamination due to some types of ingredients and the large amount of water contained in the formulation. Many natural ingredients contain high levels of micro-organisms or provide a breeding ground for them and preservatives inhibit the growth of these same micro-organisms.
