Cosmetic betaine is a natural moisturizing ingredient

Betaine is a completely natural product. Our natural betaine is not food grade, but cosmetic grade - it is a pure, purified raw material obtained from sugar beet juice. It belongs to the class of amino acids and has a wide range of cosmetic properties, the main ones being active moisturizing, conditioning and relieving skin irritation. Betaine from the Bure store is a highly purified cosmetic raw material, it easily dissolves in water and does not stain cosmetics in brown color.

The active ingredient's properties and uses for skin and hair

Betaine is used in skin care as a moisturizer and stabilizer because of its unique moisturizing properties. It also protects cell membranes. Because of its highly visible ability to improve (condition) the appearance of skin and improve the fluidity of formulations, betaine is ideal for a wide range of cosmetics. 

Natural betaine, derived from a patented Finnish technology, also contains another natural substance, inositol. Inositol belongs to the class of sugar alcohols with vitamin characteristics. Inositol is a structural part of cell membranes and as part of cosmetics it stimulates skin respiration at the cellular level.

Recent studies on the osmotic strategy of betaine in human cells support a leading role for betaine in maximizing skin hydration . Betaine also increases the water solubility of active formulations, allowing formulations with salicylic acid and allantoin to be created at room temperature. 

When added to surfactants betaine noticeably reduces their irritating effect (effectiveness confirmed by tests), as well as increases the volume and stability of the foam, enhances the action of conditioners, while betaine itself is also a mild conditioner.

To add betaine to your recipe, it must be pre-dissolved in water (temperature no higher than 40 C) and then introduced into the warm emulsion.
