Shop Beurre offers you natural alpha-bisabolol made in Italy under the trade name RTD Alpha-Bisabolol Natural. The concentration of the main substance in this form of bisabolol is 95% and it is 2.24 times more effective than its synthetic analogue.

Origin of bisabolol
Natural alpha-bisabolol can be obtained by direct distillation of the oil of the tropical shrub Candea. This shrub (Vanillosmopsis erythropappa), a member of the complex flower family, grows in southeastern and midwestern Brazil. This tree has white, hard and resinous wood, and its leaves, flowers and oil have medicinal properties. Natural alpha-bisabolol is also the main component of German chamomile (Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Oil), which has been used in traditional medicine in Europe for hundreds of years. Chamomile essential oil contains up to 50% 1-alpha-bisabolol.
As noted earlier, chamomile and candea essential oils are good plant sources for the preparation of alpha-bisabolol with a purity of 95+%. Bisabolol can also be obtained by chemical synthesis. However, the substance thus obtained consists of 85% bisabolol and, in addition, is a racemic mixture of both left- and right-handed isomers. Thus, the synthetic product contains only about 42% of the active (-) isomer. When considering the cost-effectiveness of the natural versus synthetic component, remember that 1 kg of natural alpha-bisabolol contains at least 950 g of active - alpha-bisabolol, whereas 1 kg of synthetic alpha-bisabolol contains only about 425 g of active - alpha-bisabolol. Thus, in terms of active ingredients, RTD Alpha-Bisabolol Natural is about 2.24 times more effective than the synthetic material.
Useful properties of Bisabolol in cosmetics
Bisabolol is ubiquitously used in anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antibacterial and soothing cosmetics for face, body and hair. Bisabolol is used in both cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. The component improves the condition and appearance of dehydrated skin, makes it velvety, and helps to restore the hydrolipid mantle. For owners of dry skin bisabolol will help to solve the problem of flaking with excessive dryness and xerosis, and will also contribute to the restoration of elasticity.
Due to its high concentration of bioactive molecules, bisabolol can accelerate skin healing and effectively stimulate healthy hair growth. And by strengthening the skin's protective barrier, bisabolol can be classified as an effective protective agent, reducing the risk of skin damage from physical and chemical factors.
This component also enhances the penetration of other cosmetic ingredients into the skin, which can be particularly useful in various pathological conditions (rosacea, dermatitis). In such cases, bisabolol acts as both an active and an auxiliary ingredient (enhancer).
Cleansing the skin of pathogens is another function of this amazing substance: bisabolol, among other things, exhibits antimicrobial properties. In particular, it is a powerful inhibitor of the growth of pathogenic and opportunistic fungi. In particular, it is a potent inhibitor of Candida albicans fungi and Gram-positive bacteria.
However, the most significant for cosmetic and dermatological practice properties of Bisabolol are: anti-inflammatory, healing, antibacterial, antifungal and anti-allergic.
Benefits of Bisabolol in natural cosmetics
What makes this component unique is that it is free of farnesol. And this ensures that the active is not harmful to both children and adults, and can be used in all kinds of products for sensitive skin, including baby cosmetics.
What functions does the active do
- relieves any skin irritations, regardless of their origin
- effective anti-inflammatory component
- helps other components penetrate deeper into the skin
- excellently stimulates hair growth
- exhibits antimicrobial properties
- is hypoallergenic
- quickly heals damage.
