Useful cosmetic properties

Birch extract has mild astringent, stimulating properties, maintains acid-alkaline balance, well disinfects, softens and soothes the skin. In the cosmetic industry, birch bark extract is used for the manufacture of active cleansing, day moisturizing, night degreasing creams, foot creams, antiperspirants and other cosmetic preparations. Also birch bark extract is actively used in the complex therapy of eczema and psoriasis. 

Ideal basis for the care of sensitive and problem skin. It has antiseptic action, a natural bacteriostatic (natural preservative), normalizes the production of sebum, balancing the skin; antioxidant, tones and softens the skin, has anti-inflammatory and antifungal action, reduces skin irritation and redness, soothes the skin, prevents the formation of infiltrates in acne.

In soap birch extract perfectly cleanses, protects the skin from degreasing, has antibacterial, prophylactic, anti-inflammatory and therapeutic properties, increases the acidic reaction of the skin, creating an unfavorable environment for the growth and development of microorganisms and fungus, inhibits sweating. Introduction of the extract is carried out in the prepared soap shavings, together with fragrance and colorants.

Birch extract is used in hair care products, effective in the treatment of seborrhea of the head, accompanied by excessive greasiness of the hair. Taking care of oily hair, shampoo with birch extracts, thanks to the ability to break down fat, effectively washes the hair and cleanses the scalp. With systematic use of the shampoo normalizes the greasiness of hair, they are less dirty and stick together, they become more shiny and voluminous, hair less often needs washing. With prolonged use stimulates hair growth. As a mixture to stimulate hair growth and / or fight dandruff can be used a mixture of birch extract, nettle extract, hops, rosemary, pepper.

Recommendations for use at home

• for the preparation of oil mixtures CO2 extract is added to the base vegetable oil in the standard dosage of 0.2 - 0.5% or 0.2-0.5 g per 100 g of oil, then thoroughly stirred until dissolved;
• in recipes for handmade cosmetics CO2 extracts are introduced at the final stage of preparation together with other active ingredients at a temperature of 35-45 °C. In creams, the extract can be introduced into the warm emulsion before the active phase is introduced.
• CO2-extracts can be added to already prepared cosmetic creams to enhance the effectiveness of their action with strict adherence to the dosage.
