Coconut oil is one of the lauric oils, which is rich in vitamins and saturated acids. This oil is a semi-solid mass of white or creamy color. This component is perfectly absorbed into the skin, which is why this oil is included in many cosmetics for skin, nails and hair. The product is characterized by high activity and effectiveness. It contains triglycerides, medium and short-chain saturated acids. Coconut oil is quite popular in the beauty industry. Another sphere of application of this component is soap making.

Oil undergoes many stages of processing and the content of useful substances in it decreases. Such oil is good for soap from scratch, but for cosmetic purposes it is better to take coconut oil simply refined or virgin (unrefined).

Coconut oil makes a very hard soap with a soft lather. It is best used in combination with other oils, but can also be used on its own up to 100% in a recipe. Soap made entirely from coconut oil is called sailor's soap because it also soaps in salt water. Coconut oil has good cleansing and foaming properties, so it is widely used in soapmaking in almost every recipe.

Recommended oil dosage: up to 15-20% (in soap for daily use) or up to 100% (if the soap will be used in salty hard water)

If the soap is made with 100% coconut oil, it will have the following characteristics:

Hardness: slightly shriveled

Texture: good, waxy, shiny.

Foam: medium bubbles, transitioning into cream
