Cosmenyl Carmine water-soluble colorant for soaps and cosmetics
Cosmenyl Carmine is a water-soluble pigment dispersion, which contains about 40% of pigment and is based on the addition of water and glycerin. The pigment is recommended for coloring personal care products, specialty soaps and cosmetics. The product can be used for dyeing fabrics and home care products, as well as added to industrial and institutional cleaning products. Blue and yellow pigments are also available in this series.
Characteristics and features of use
Composition: 40% pigment, water, glycerin.
Appearance: viscous paste of red-pink color.
Chemical group: Naphthol AS
Color index No.: 12490
Recommended % input: from 0,02% when using concentrated pigment. But it is better to make less concentrated premixes, we wrote about it below.
How to use pigment paste correctly
Pigment pastes are not used in pure form, because the high concentration of coloring substances does not allow the pastes to distribute quickly and evenly in the coloring medium. As a result, after adding pure concentrated pigment paste to the product, clots (flakes) of undistributed paste may be observed. For successful coloring results, we recommend preparing pigment paste suspensions in water beforehand. Before preparing the water suspension, the paste should be thoroughly mixed.
The concentration of the pigment paste suspension used depends on the volume of product mixing and the dosage of colorant in the product. At small production volumes (single mixtures), it is advisable to use aqueous suspensions of pigment pastes with a concentration of 1%. At medium and large production volumes - 5 %.
- for preparation of 1% aqueous suspension it is necessary to mix 1 g of pigment paste and 99 g of water and mix thoroughly.
- for preparation of 5% aqueous suspension it is necessary to mix 5 g of pigment paste and 95 g of water and mix thoroughly.
Pigments in aqueous suspensions of pigment pastes settle during storage, so before each application of the pre-prepared suspension it should be thoroughly mixed.
The dosage of pigment paste suspensions depends on the category of perfume and cosmetic product and the desired color saturation. For coloring glycerin and natural soaps, we recommend that pigment pastes be applied at a concentration of no more than 0.1 %. When
When using a 5% aqueous suspension - not higher than 2%, when using a 1% aqueous suspension - not higher than 10%.
Regulatory status and uses
Regulatory status: In Europe it is approved for use in washable and non-washable cosmetics, including eye, lip and oral care products. Stable at high pH.
