Cyclomethicone 50 g

Description: a polydimethylsiloxane mixture consisting mainly of cyclopentasiloxane and cyclohexasiloxane.

Recommended concentration:

Creams and lotions 1% to 5% 

Solid antiperspirants 35% - 55% 

Sunscreen lotions 5% - 18% 

Cosmetics in solid form 35% - 55% 

Dry oils, perfume perfume sprays, scented room sprays 15% - 85% 

Hair sprays - up to 99% 

Conditions of use: added to chilled cream or oil phase at 52˚C or below. 

Solubility: m iscible with fatty alcohols, beeswax (when heated and melted), stearic acid, natural oils (e.g. almond, jojoba, soybean, sunflower, except castor, partially with solid oils/butters), mineral oils, synthetic esters (emollients) and other silicones; insoluble in water, glycerin, ethanol, 

Cyclomethicone in the structure of care products, as well as natural oils, acts as an emollient, i.e. a softener / gelling agent. 

Compared to oils , cyclomethicone has a number of advantages: 

- it is inert, does not penetrate deep into the skin and does not interfere with physiological processes, i.e. it is a neutral component; 

- does not enter into any chemical reactions with other components of the product, so that the active ingredients are preserved in their original form, 

- resistant to oxidation and spoilage, stable in the product, 

- completely evaporates from the skin surface without creating an occlusive layer, 

- non-comedogenic. 

Cyclomethicone does not bear such a useful load for the skin as base oils, but it is able to ennoble the sensations when applying the product to the skin and to facilitate the greasy phase of the cosmetic product.

Cyclomethiconegives hair softness and silkiness, eliminates stickiness in creams, provides even distribution of active substances on the surface. Excellent conditioner, leaves the skin feeling soft and silky. Quickly evaporates from the skin surface, non-greasy, does not leave an oily residue. Used in the creation of “dry” oils and perfumes. Can partially or completely replace the cream base.

Use in face and body skin care products:

- excellent lightweight skin conditioner

- gives the skin a soft and silky feel

- used to reduce stickiness in skin creams and lotions (creams, serums, gels and lotions, tanning and shaving products).

- promotes even distribution of active ingredients on the surface of the skin (tanning products)

- Used in antiperspirants and deodorants

Use in decorative cosmetics:

- can be used as an additive to powders and other powdered makeup products

- allows the creation of light, non-greasy foundations and shadows

- In solid pencil form, this product has a good ratio between volatility and spreadability.

Use in shampoos, serums and conditioners:

- gives shine, softness to the hair and makes it easier to style it

- excellent hair conditioner

- used in aerosolized hair products (sprays, varnishes, serums).

Perfume application:

- replaces part or full phase of perfumes, colognes, bath oils

- used in the preparation of non-greasy, “dry” body oil or perfume in the form of a spray based on essential or perfume oils.
