Component characteristics and application features

Density at 20°C: 0.845 – 0.865 g/ml

Saponification number: 125 - 150

Dosage (percentage of introduction into cosmetics): 0.5 - 70%. We offer approximate introduction dosages below:

• 0.5 - 3% in shampoos and shower gels
• 0.5 - 15% in emulsion
• up to 40% in oils.

Solubility: in oil

Use: add to the fatty phase of the cream or mix with other fat-soluble components. Heating is allowed. When introducing into shampoos, it is recommended to mix the emollient with heated surfactants.

Storage: in a cool, dry place in a tightly closed package.

Benefits and advantages of using an emollient

Plantasens Olive LD emollient is a very durable, stable, transparent emollient with virtually no odor. It maintains its viscosity regardless of temperature, which makes it an order of magnitude better than Cyclomethicone D5. Oxidation sensitivity tests were also conducted, during which Plantasens Olive LD came out on top compared to jojoba oil and sunflower oil. The bottles with the three liquids were placed in an oven for 8 hours at a temperature of 100 C, after which the results were obtained that indicate that Plantasens Olive LD has high oxidation resistance over a long period. Moreover, it does not change color or smell. That is, when using this emollient in your recipes, you reduce the risk of premature spoilage of the finished product.

Plantasens Olive LD has excellent compatibility with a wide range of oil ingredients of varying polarity, which silicones such as Dimethicone or Cyclomethicone D5 cannot boast of. Often these silicones are added to cream recipes to reduce the whitish trace after application, because they are characterized by low surface tension. They also improve the spreadability of some finished cosmetic products. However, studies have shown that the effectiveness of Plantasens Olive LD in reducing whitish traces is on par with the above-mentioned silicones.

When added to cosmetics, the component gives the skin an elegant "dry" after-feeling. Due to its olive nature, Plantasens Olive LD demonstrates good affinity for all skin types and has excellent moisturizing properties that help restore skin elasticity and suppleness. In hair products, the emollient has conditioning properties for hair, so it can often be found in shampoos and hair conditioners.

Advantages in hair care

Plantasens Olive LD has high conditioning properties in hair care products, very similar to silicones. It can be introduced into shampoo up to 1% while maintaining good viscosity. Olive LD allows you to get transparent rinse-off products (shower gels, shampoos, liquid soaps, etc.), especially if you combine it with the water-soluble solubilizer Tegosoft PC 41 MB, which in cleansing formulas serves as a solubilizer, co-surfactant and a means for enhancing cleansing properties.

Plantasens Olive LD is compatible with various surfactants commonly used for foaming products. If you introduce an emollient into the recipe up to 1% - there is no need to introduce special solubilizers, the emollient can be added directly to the surfactant system before adding water. In this case, the transparency and viscosity of the finished detergent are preserved.

Plantasens Olive LD also does not reduce foaming (testing was conducted with an emollient content of 1%), but it was noted that the foam of the formula with Plantasens Olive LD became finer and denser than the foam of the same shampoo formula without emollient.
