BTMS is a blended vegetable emulsifier consisting of the active conditioning agent Behentrimonium Methosulfate and Cetearyl Alcohol as a structuring agent. This emulsifier is mainly used to create hair care products. It is ideal for creating shampoos, conditioners, conditioners and hair masks. BTMS facilitates combing and makes hair soft and silky. Due to its affinity with hair keratin, it reduces static when combing. Hair becomes soft and smooth, less breakage .

INCI: Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol

Main conditioning agent content(Behentrimonium Methosulfate): 25%

Type: cationic emulsifier

Emulsion type: oil-in-water (M/W)

Dosage: 1 - 5 %

Use: The emulsifier melts in the oil phase at a temperature of about 55-60 °C. It can be used as a single emulsifier or in combination with other co-emulsifiers. Recommended pH of the finished product is 4.5 -7.0. 

Regulatory status: the manufacturer has never carried out any animal tests, nor has it ordered such tests from third parties. The product is not a nanomaterial as defined by the Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, Commission Recommendation 2011/696/EC and French Regulation No 2012-232. No GMOs or derivatives of GMOs are used in the production.

Storage: in a cool dry place, out of direct sunlight.

BTMS emulsifier and its use in recipes

BTMS is a plant-based emulsifier with a conditioning effect that is derived from natural rapeseed and palm oil. Usually, industrial hair conditioners contain very aggressive conditioning additives (ammonium compounds) that have a high irritant and toxic profile. Therefore, we have chosen an eco-friendly conditioner that has no irritating effects.

BTMS offers innovative properties - natural composition, softness for the skin, light emulsification as well as chic conditioning properties. Due to its exceptional softness, it is also used in indelible hair conditioners that make hair shiny, manageable, easier to style and comb wet hair.

BTMS can be used as a single emulsifier for creams and milks or combined with co-emulsifiers. Another unique feature is that this emulsifier can emulsify large amounts of silicones (up to 50% in a recipe).
