Ecomuls 2 in 1 natural emulsifier - an easy way to prepare reverse emulsions
Ecomuls 2 in 1 from Naturatec is a product of purely vegetable origin, with which you can easily prepare reverse emulsions. It does not require any special equipment. Ecomuls 2 in1 is GMO-free. Its raw materials are natural glycerides and unsaponifiable parts of olive oil. This emulsifier has exceptional emulsifying abilities and high moisturising properties. You can watch a video lesson on creating a reverse emulsion with Ecomulse on the Beurre Cosmetic Kitchen channel.
Characteristics of the component and specifics of use
INCI: Glyceryl Oleate, Polyglyceryl-3-polyricinoleate, Olea Europaea Oil Unsaponifiables
HLB: 3±1
Dosage: 3 - 5% as a mono emulsifier
Use: add to the oil phase. It is possible to create an emulsion both cold and hot. Requires the introduction of salt to stabilise the emulsion. Read more about methods of working with emulsifier below.
Storage: in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight.
Ecomuls - not just an emulsifier, but a powerful moisturising agent
Ecomuls is a non-ionogenic emulsifier of vegetable origin. It is able to create stable emulsions even at low concentrations (from 3%) without co-emulsifier. But the main thing is that creation of such emulsions allows deep moisturising of the skin.
Properties of reverse emulsifiers in cosmetics
- Ecomuls creams are well absorbed
- Creates a breathable occlusive layer that retains moisture well. According to studies, after a single application of a cream with Ecomuls after 8 hours, skin hydration increases by 20%
- Compatible with all skin types
- Protects the stratum corneum from damage
- Creams on Ecomuls are quickly absorbed and do not leave a greasy residue even with a high percentage of fatty phase.
Ecomuls can be bought to create such cosmetics
Moisturising creams for face and body Creams and cosmetics for sensitive skin Nourishing night creams Body milk, lotions Sun protection cosmetics: Ecomuls takes well both chemical and physical UV filters Waterproof creams Baby cosmetics, e.g. nappy creams Facial products with a high percentage of powder additives (clay, vegetable, fruit and flower powders, algae powders, rice powders, etc.).etc.) BB-, CC- and foundation creams. Cold creams.
How to make a W/O emulsion with Ecomuls 2 in 1 emulsifier
Making a cream on Ecomuls is quite simple. You need to follow a number of simple actions, and you will get a great result. First of all, you need to remember one simple rule of working with this reverse emulsifier - the viscosity of the emulsion on Ecomuls 2 in 1 depends on the size of the fatty phase:
- if the fatty phase is small from 5 to 10%, you will get a dense emulsion of high viscosity
- If the fatty phase is from 15% and above, the emulsion will be more fluid and lower viscosity. You can get the consistency of a body milk, which is very useful for creating body sunscreens with chemical and/or physical filters
- replacing oils with emollients also gives a more fluid emulsion and "lightens" it.
A prerequisite for creating an emulsion on Ecomuls is the addition of salt to the aqueous phase: 2 % common table salt or 0.8 % MgSO4. This is necessary to ensure the stability of the finished cosmetics in the future. The manufacturer also recommends adding a gel-forming agent to the aqueous phase to make the emulsion more stable, so you can adjust its viscosity. Emulsions can be prepared either hot or cold. Usually, hot emulsions are prepared if there is a need to add batters or waxes to the fatty phase or other components that need to be heated. Then you warm both phases and then introduce water into the oil while stirring constantly.
Cold emulsions on Ecomuls can be prepared with unstable oils that cannot be heated. In both cases the following procedure should be followed:
- mixed with the fatty phase
- salt and gelling agent are added to the aqueous phase and stirred until homogeneous
- the aqueous phase is introduced dropwise into the fatty phase and stirred with a mini-mixer after each addition of water
- then homogenisation is necessary, maximum speed of the mini-mixer is sufficient and it is possible to proceed to stirring with an ordinary stick or spoon until the emulsion acquires its final viscosity.
With the cold method, the active ingredients can be dissolved immediately in the water or fat phase, depending on whether they are water-soluble or fat-soluble. Up to 15 % of the active ingredients can be added to the finished emulsion without the threat of delamination. This feature makes the emulsifier an excellent basis for the preparation of sunscreen cosmetics with a high content of physical filters, or face and body masks with the addition of large quantities of clay or cosmetic powders.
