Planta M plant emulsifier for cosmetics preparation

Planta M emulsifier (Planta M, Planta Mulse) is a natural, completely plant-based emulsifier for oil-in-water emulsions. Its peculiarity is that it forms lamellar liquid-crystalline emulsions, which are extremely stable with any ingredients, are conductors of active ingredients into the skin, and also have excellent sensory sensations on the skin. Conditioning the skin, leaving it exceptionally soft and smooth.

Component characteristic and usage features

INCI: Polyglyceryl-3 Methyglucose Distearate

HLB: 12 

Appearance: white to beige coloured lozenges

Dosage (percentage of input into cosmetics): 2 - 3 %.

Solubility: in oil at 70-80 °C

Peculiarities of use: the emulsion is obtained by heating the two phases, aqueous and fatty (separately), to a temperature of approx. 70-80°C, after which the fatty phase is poured into the aqueous phase and mixed vigorously. The mixing is then continued at reduced speed. Tip: to thicken the cream/lotion, add 1-2% vegetable stearic acid or co-emulsifiers/thickeners Lanol P or Lanette O. Planta M is stable in the pH range of 4.5 - 8.0. It combines well with electrolytes. 

Regulatory status: the emulsifier is produced without the use of any materials of animal origin. The manufacturer has never carried out any animal testing, nor has it commissioned any such testing from third parties. The product is not a nanomaterial as defined by the Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, Commission Recommendation 2011/696/EC and French Regulation No 2012-232. GMOs and GMO derivatives are not used in the production.

Certification: Ecocert, Halal

Storage: long-term storage is recommended in a dark place at temperatures up to +25 °C, protect from direct sunlight and moisture.

Use of emulsifier in recipes

Optimum proportions of the fatty phase to create a liquid-crystalline structure:

• 20 - 34 % for creams
• 12 - 25 % for lotions.

Planta M forms smooth emulsions of high whiteness, but without a white trace. It creates stable emulsions with polar and non-polar lipids (it combines with all types of oils and emollients and is strongly stable (resistant) to stratification. The emulsifier is highly stable at elevated temperatures. It allows the introduction of extracts and active ingredients in very high concentrations. It is used in sunscreen formulas as it allows the introduction of UV filters in high concentrations. Can be used in anhydrous body scrubs for even distribution of scrub particles.

Planta M emulsifier has a moisturising effect - conducts active ingredients into the skin due to its liquid-crystalline structure - conditions, leaves the skin smooth and soft - high quality bioemulsions with active prolonged action.
