Application of fermented oils in cosmetics
Cosmetics based on fermentation products are easily absorbed by the skin due to the breakdown of substances in the fermentation process and reduction of particles in size for better penetration into tissues, while they do not lose their beneficial properties.
Labio Korea has a patented technology for the production of fermented cosmetic ingredients. The patent was registered in cooperation with the Korea Research Institute of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology. The fermentation utilizes Pseudozyma sp. microgranism, which changes substances in the composition of vegetable oil and produces different kinds of polysaccharides and lipids. That is, at the end of the technological process, the oil is enriched with new constituents.
Conventional vegetable oils contain triglycerides, free fatty acids < 1%, α-Tocopherol, polyphenols. And after fermentation, the amount of free fatty acids increases to 4-6%, the oil is enriched with α-Tocopherol and polyphenols, and Mannosylerythritol lipid (MEL) 0.5%.

Benefits of fermented oils
- No greasiness
- Increased moisturization and nourishment of skin and hair
- Increased skin absorption
- Emulsifying ability
- Antioxidant effect.
Use of fermentoil in recipes
Olive fermented oil is ideal for use in a wide range of cosmetic products including facial and body skin care, decorative cosmetics, sunscreen cosmetics and hair products. Fermented oil serums can be found in the natural cosmetics market, which absorb much faster, leaving behind a velvety feel. Serums are also enriched with lipophilic extracts or vitamins and are positioned as stand-alone cosmetics.
Also, fermented oils or their blends are used to create indelible hair oils that repair dry and brittle ends without leaving behind greasy and sticky hair.
The dosage of using fermented oils is not limited to the top scale, but you need to remember that fermented oil is much more effective than its regular vegetable counterpart. Therefore, the percentage of fermented oil in cosmetics can be reduced compared to base oil.
