Lime essential oil is a tonic, bright, mildly affecting oil from the group of citrus fruits, which retains both the properties characteristic of the whole family and has unique abilities. It is distinguished by a complex, pleasant aroma with a piquant bitterness, which is perfectly perceived in perfume compositions and captivates with much brighter overtones than the ester of lemon, which is similar in properties but not in character. Tonic, bright and optimistic lime oil is non-toxic and suitable for universal use.

Cosmetic effect

Lime essential oil has a cleansing and toning effect on the skin. Suitable for oily skin. In blends - for oily skin: controls sebum secretion, gets rid of black spots, tightens pores, whitens skin (especially neck and back). Strengthens thin hair and nails, promotes their growth.

The use of lime oil for people with mature skin helps to activate blood circulation, restore injured capillaries (in case of couperosis) and damaged cells, provokes the development of new cells. Thus, smoothing wrinkles, giving tone to tired skin, makes the complexion fresher. This is especially noticeable after illnesses, overload (physical and nervous), after pregnancy and childbirth, also in women who smoke.

It can be used in the treatment of herpes, boils, warts, papillomas, closed comedones (miliums or blackheads with white heads).

Lime essential oil also eliminates pustular, acne lesions of the skin and furunculosis. In dermatology, it is effective for scabies and infected wounds, cuts burns, ulcers, insect bites. Lime oil is effective in the fight against cellulite.

Healing effect of lime essential oil

Lime essential oil accelerates recovery after a serious illness, because it is an excellent plant immunostimulant.

Application:

Lime essential oil is used both pure and in composition with other essential oils (all citrus, lavender, rosewood, neroli, citronella, rosemary, clary sage).

Nail Care. Mix 3 drops of lime essential oil, 2 drops of rosemary essential oil, 10 ml of jojoba or macadamia oil. Pour the mixture into a brown glass bottle. Use a small brush to apply the oil to your nails several times a week. The nails will strengthen, thicken and acquire a nice shine. Every two weeks, make an oil bath for your hand nails. Mix 2 drops of lime, 2 drops of frankincense, 2 drops of tea tree, 2 drops of rose, 10 ml of wheat kernel oil, 10 ml of jojoba oil. Immerse your fingertips in the oil for 5 minutes. Massage the nail shafts with the oil left on your fingers. To care for brittle nails, rub lime essential oil into them several times a week.

Aromolamp: 4-6 drops of lime essential oil per 15 m2;

Baths: 6-8 drops of essential oil per bath (previously dissolved in sea salt, baking soda, or other substance); 

Precautions:

Non-toxic, does not cause irritation. Pressed oil is phototoxic.

Lime oil obtained by distillation in the form of a 15% solution in petrolatum for 48 hours. does not cause irritation of human skin, does not have a sensitizing effect. There is no phototoxic effect. 

In contrast, when pressed lime oil was tested, a distinct phototoxic effect was observed. For this reason, IFRA limits the introduction of such oil into cosmetics to a limit of 3.5%.
