Vitamin C in liposomes - an active agent for brightening and anti-aging skin

Lipo-ceravit C is an active ingredient developed using innovative liposomal technology. The base of the liposomes is the ingredient itself, which is present in the form of glycoceramides. These, in turn, are mixed at a very high speed, which leads to the formation of tiny vesicles in which vitamin C is embedded. This allows the greatest penetration of the beneficial vitamin C and ceramides into the layers of the dermis.

A comparative article that will tell you about the different forms of vitamin C, their properties and peculiarities of use, published in the BLOG BEURRE “Vitamin C: its forms, features of use and properties in cosmetics”.

Characteristics of the component and peculiarities of use

INCI: Glycerin (and) Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (and) Glucosyl Ceramide (and) Pentylene Glycol

Dosage: 0.5-3%

Solubility: water-dispersible, which is a great feature when working with ceramides and oil-soluble vitamin C. When combined with water, an opaque solution is obtained. Solubilizers (polysorbate, PEG-40, water-soluble oil) can be used to improve solubility.

Usage: the component is preferably introduced into the composition of cosmetic preparations at the end of preparation, at the stage of cooling at a temperature not exceeding 40C.

Storage: at temperature up to +25 C in a dark place. Temporary transportation at a different temperature is allowed and does not affect the quality of the product.

Cosmetic features of the component

To begin with, we want to clarify that there are 2 active substances interconnected in the base of the component:

  • oil-soluble vitamin C 20%.
  • glycoceramides 4%.

Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant, preventing oxidative processes, fighting radicals and slowing down aging, stimulating the production of collagen fibers in the body. However, in its pure form, this vitamin quickly oxidizes and changes color, becoming unsuitable for use in cosmetics. To avoid such difficulties, stable varieties of the vitamin are used: for example, a sparingly soluble form of ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate. This form quickly enters the deep layers of the skin, releasing the vitamin in its pure form, which begins to interact organically with other physiological processes.

The vitamin is resistant to high temperatures, participates in the interaction of hydroxyproline formed from proline under the influence of vitamin C, stimulates the production of collagen. In addition, vitamin C is a strong antioxidant that prevents the production of radicals and prevents oxidative processes. The component eliminates age spots and inhibits the appearance of excessive amounts of melanin.

Properties of vitamin C with ceramide

The product has valuable properties and is successfully used in the preparation of home and industrial cosmetics:

  • Rapid penetration through the skin barrier.
  • Suppresses excessive tyrosinase activity and the appearance of melanin.
  • Reduces the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays on human cellular structure and DNA.
  • Neutralizes reactive oxygen species, prevents lipid oxidation and, consequently, slows down skin aging.
  • Due to its stable form, the component is quickly dispersed in water and does not lose stability during heating. It does not oxidize when added to vegetable oil.
  • Restores the cellular structure of the skin.
  • Has triple the effectiveness of the water-soluble form of L-ascorbic acid.
  • Stimulates the body's production of collagen fibers.
  • Inhibits the action of enzymes that destroy collagen bonds.
  • The component reduces the number of damaged cells destroyed by the negative effects of ultraviolet radiation.

Glycoceramides components are important for maintaining the stable operation of the skin barrier function. These substances maintain and regenerate the lipid layer, combining the skin matrix into a single system. Glycoceramides are well absorbed into the skin, have a high level of hygroscopicity and are therefore able to retain moisture well. These components regenerate dry and damaged skin, stabilize the functioning of sebaceous glands on oily skin.

The main cosmetic properties of vitamin C are:

  • Stimulation of collagen production.
  • Destruction of harmful radicals.
  • Inhibition of melanin and collagen-degrading enzymes.
  • Strengthening the barrier function.
  • Preservation of moisture.

Application in cosmetology

Vitamin C with Ceravit lipo ceramide is used to create home and industrial cosmetics with anti-aging effect. Popular products:

  • Anti-aging creams and gels.
  • Cosmetics for the correction of age spots.
  • Serums and gels for skin regeneration after mechanical injuries.
