Lipout is an anti-cellulite ingredient that improves body contours and skin elasticity

Lipout (Lipout) from the Spanish company Provital is an effective anti-cellulite ingredient used for body sculpting. It reduces the appearance of cellulite, improves skin elasticity and firmness. Lipaut is also used in facial care cosmetics, especially useful in active face masks, and in hair cosmetics, showing conditioning properties. It does not contain parabens and is authorized for use in vegan cosmetics. Perfectly combined in formulas with Drenalip.

Characteristics of the component and specifics of use

INCI: Caprylic/capric triglyceride, plankton extract, tocopherol.

Appearance: transparent liquid of greenish-brown color.

Dosage: 1-3%

Solubility: in oil at a temperature not exceeding 40 ° C.

Usage: dissolve in oil, solubilizer or inject directly into warm emulsion and stir thoroughly until dissolved. 

Storage: long-term storage is recommended in hermetically sealed containers at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.

Adipocytes or what human adipose tissue consists of

Adipose tissue is predominantly formed by adipocytes and recent studies have shown that there are 3 types of adipocytes.

• Brown: multiple fat cells with a large number of mitochondria. Fat burning (thermogenesis).
• White: single fat cells with few mitochondria. Fat accumulation.
• Active beige: similar to brown, fat-burning. And inactive beige: similar to white, fat preserving.

Thermogenesis is a fat burning process

UCP1, an important element of thermogenesis. It is a marker gene of beige and brown adipocytes and is essential for lipid burning. Thermogenesis involves the following processes:

• Stimulus triggering triglyceride breakdown and intracellular release of fatty acids.
• Activation of UCP1 by free fatty acids.
• Stimulation of mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation.
• Activation of thermogenesis = fat burning.

Lipout acts on beige and white adipocytes, it induces UCP1 expression in adipocytes to activate their darkening (active state). It increases β-oxidation of fatty acids through activation of thermogenesis, literally burning stored fat. Lipout activates the darkening and thermogenesis processes to reduce fat deposits and eliminate cellulite.

Efficacy studies

In-vitro

Lipout activates the genetic program of active beige adipocytes in a priori white and beige adipocytes. Lipout increases UCP1 expression by 50% in preadipocytes and 378% in mature adipocytes (Figure right). Lipout increases VDAC protein expression by 22% in preadipocytes and 139% in mature adipocytes, resulting in a significant increase in the number of active mitochondria in the cells (Figure left).

In-vivo

A creamy gel with 3% Lipout was compared to the same formulation without the active ingredient (placebo). 61 volunteers, male and female, aged 18 to 60 years, all with a body mass index (BMI) above 23 for women and above 25 for men. 21 women and 10 men applied placebo, and 20 women and 10 men applied the formulation with Lipout twice daily for 2 months. Women applied the product to the abdomen and thighs to assess fat and cellulite reduction; men applied the product to the abdomen only to assess fat reduction. Results of the study:

• Reduction in thigh volume to 5.7 centimeters
• Reduction in abdominal volume up to 5.0 cm in women and up to 10.4 cm in men
• Significant reduction in body contours in both men and women due to a reduction in subcutaneous fat thickness
  
• Significant reduction in the length of the dermis-hypodermis junction by 21.7% compared to placebo
• significantly smoothes skin irregularities and improves skin appearance.
• Increases skin elasticity in both the upper and deeper layers of the skin on all areas of the body evaluated
• significantly increases skin temperature as it converts fat storing adipose tissue into thermogenic adipose tissue, which actively burns fat.
