Magnesium stearate in cosmetics

Magnesium Stearate is the magnesium salt of stearic acid obtained from vegetable raw materials. It is used in cosmetics to improve adhesion and slip, as well as to improve the texture of the finished product.

Magnesium stearate is a chemical compound of magnesium (the same element as in vitamins) and stearate (of vegetable origin). It is authorized for use in lip, eye, and facial cosmetics.

Use of magnesium stearate in mineral cosmetics:

• used to improve the adhesion (sticking to the skin), glide and texture of mineral cosmetics, powders, blushes, shadows, etc.
• ideal for the preparation of decorative cosmetics of the “compact” type
• filler (filler), included in the base for decorative cosmetics
• prevents “sticking” and formation of clumps in mineral cosmetics
• covering power
• partially replaces white matte pigment
• for adding volume to cosmetic products (structure builder and stabilizer in cosmetic creams)
• used as a binding, structuring and stabilizing agent in cosmetic creams - prevents separation into aqueous and fatty phases.
