Montanov 202 Emulsifier is a new generation biomimetic green emulsifier produced on the basis of alkylpolyglucosides and fatty alcohols derived from plant biomass. Montanov 202 is used to create liquid crystalline emulsions with a very light gentle texture. Characteristics of the component and features of use

INCI: Arachidyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol, Arachidyl Glucoside

Appearance: small granules of white to light beige colour

Type: non-ionogenic emulsifier

Working pH: 3.0 - 11.0

Emulsion type: oil in water (O/W)

Recommended dosage for various cosmetic products:

• light fluid, milk - 3%
• creams - 4-5%.

Solubility: in oil at a temperature of 85 °C. It is very important to heat to this temperature, otherwise the emulsion may not turn out as beautiful as you expect.

Application details: heat the emulsifier in the oil phase (up to 85 °C), pour the fatty phase into the aqueous phase 1 at a time. Stir a few times manually with a spoon so that the phases contact each other. Then start mixing with a mixer until an emulsion is obtained. Continue mixing slowly with a spoon or spatula until the cream has cooled. Tip: add 1-2% of Lanol P or Lanette O co-emulsifiers/thickeners to thicken the cream.

Storage: long-term storage is recommended in a dark place at temperatures up to +25 °C, protect from direct sunlight and moisture.

Cosmetic use of emulsifier

Montanov 202 emulsifier is a hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic ingredient that is excellent for the creation of cosmetics for oily skin, acne prone skin and male skin. It allows the creation of white glossy emulsions with a lamellar structure, which provide moisturisation and strengthen the lipid barrier of the skin. The emulsions are easy to spread and absorb quickly, especially when functional fillers are added to cream formulations. In combination with Montanov 202, they leave the skin soft, but not greasy or shiny, and have a matte finish.

Due to its long-lasting hydrating effect, French Montanov 202 is ideal for body care products and provides a long-lasting feeling of comfort. The emulsifier is also suitable for creating foundations or corrective creams with a delicate, light texture and mattifying effect. Montanov 202 has a high melting point. This property is useful in all formulas where waxes are used, such as water-in-oil emulsions, mascaras and lipsticks. In these cases, the emulsifier acts as a thickening agent, improving the consistency of the product. The emulsifier is compatible with all oxidising and oxidizable actives such as AHAs or vitamins. The glucolipid structure of the emulsifier means that it has hydrating properties to prevent dehydration of the epidermis. This complements the action of traditionally used hydrating active ingredients (Aquaxyl, glycerin, NUV, hyaluronic acid, etc.). Montanov 202 is capable of creating `liquid crystals' emulsion regardless of the nature of the emulsified fatty phase (esters, silicones, vegetable oils).
