"Green" non-inogenic emulsifier for liquid crystal emulsions Montanov 68
Montanov 68 is a new generation emulsifier with a "green" image based on alkylpolyglucosides and fatty alcohols, derived from plant biomass. It is used to create lamellar emulsions with "liquid crystals". Emulsions based on Montanov 68 provide skin restructuring effect, TEWL reduction, moisturising effect and mimic the lipid layer of the cell membrane.
Characteristics of the component and features of use
INCI: Cetearyl alcohol, Cetearyl glucoside
Appearance: white to light beige coloured granules
Type: non-ionogenic emulsifier
Recommended dosage for various cosmetic products: 1-5 %
Solubility: in oil at a temperature of 75 °C. It is very important to heat to this temperature, otherwise the emulsion may not turn out as beautiful as you expect.
Application details: heat the emulsifier in the oil phase, pour the fatty phase into the aqueous phase 1 at a time. Stir a few times by hand with a spoon to allow the phases to contact each other. Then start mixing with a mixer until an emulsion is obtained. Continue mixing slowly with a spoon or spatula until the cream has cooled. Tip: add 1-2% Lanol P or Lanette O co-emulsifiers/thickeners to thicken the cream. Montanov 68 also combines well with Montanov 202 emulsifier, see recipes below for examples of combinations.
Certification: ECOCERT, COSMOS and Natrue
Storage: long-term storage is recommended in a dark place at temperatures up to +25 °C, protected from direct sunlight and moisture.
Cosmetic use of emulsifier
Emulsion with "liquid crystals" is an emulsion in which micro-particles of oil are placed in micro-droplets of water, which, in turn, in micro-droplets of oil, and so on to infinity. The result is a "crystalline multi-layered gel or cream". And this structure is three times more effective than classic emulsions. What is the reason for the effectiveness of crystalline multilayer gel - cream?
The structure of the emulsion is similar to the structure of the skin. The fact is that many living cell membranes have multilayer structures. In other words, our skin is also multi-layered. The similarity of the gel structure and the structure of our skin ensures the highest compatibility of cosmetics with the human body. Identical to the skin membrane, the emulsion ensures optimal biological absorption of the active ingredients. The structure of the emulsion ensures "long-lasting" moisturisation. When using conventional classical emulsifying technology, the moisturising effect is usually short-lived.
In the structure of the crystalline multilayer gel, however, 50 per cent of the total amount of moisture is "packed" into the layers. This means that water does not evaporate instantly, and we get a long-lasting moisturising effect. According to experts' estimates, the duration of moisturising effect of cosmetics based on liquid crystals is three times longer compared to classic emulsifying technology. The structure of the emulsion ensures a gradual, prolonged release of active ingredients. Thanks to the structure of multilayer layered crystals, any active ingredients "dissolved" in the cosmetic product will be released about a thousand times slower! This means that the nourishment of our skin will be long and gradual. And therefore effective.
Montanov 68 emulsifier creates plastic emulsions of soft and delicate texture, it is universal, stable, compatible with anionic and cationic surfactants. It can be used with any type of oil phase, including vegetable oils. Emulsifier gives a soft texture to creams for oily and sensitive skin, combined and fading skin, as well as skin prone to dryness. It does not require additional stabilisation of the emulsion.
Use of the emulsifier in formulas
- for all types of emulsions
- for skin care products
- cleansing products (including 2 - in - 1)
- sunscreen products
- cosmetic creams
- fluid creams
- body milk or lotion.
