Olive oil for soap making

Olive oil is often used as a base oil for soap making at home. It gives soap a relative hardness, is recommended to combine with small amounts of coconut, cocoa, castor oil, and is suitable for making soap for all skin types. A large percentage of olive oil can be used in recipes to add hardness and silkiness to the lather.

If you make soap 100% with olive oil (Castile soap), it will have the following characteristics:

Color: (5) translucent white 
Hardness: (5) very hard
Texture: (5) smooth lustrous, like white marble
Fragrance: (5) none
Foam: (5) persistent bubbles
Conditioning: (4) good, mild, washes clean

Useful properties:

Moisturizes and nourishes the skin, prevents skin aging.
Neutralizes the action of free radicals that contribute to skin aging.
Takes part in the construction of cell membranes.
Fights sunburn.
Smoothes fine lines and wrinkles.
