INCI: Cetearyl Alcohol, Lecithin, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Olus Oil

Type: lamellar emulsifier

Working pH: 4.0 - 6.0

Dosage: 2-10% (2-3% as co-emulsifier, 5-10% as main emulsifier)

Usage: add to aqueous phase and heat the mixture to 50-60C. Requires heating in hot water for at least 15 min. The heating time depends on the amount of product you are preparing.

Storage: in a cool dry place, keep away from direct sunlight.

Application of cosmetic emulsifier

The uniqueness of Plantaquat NC is that it is a conditioning emulsifier, but without a cationic component. It can be used in all washable and non-washable hair and skin products. The emulsifier consists of lecithin, thickener, hydrogenated vegetable oil and an anionic emulsifier. Due to the lecithin content Plantaquat does not disturb the water-lipid balance of the skin and after using cosmetics with this emulsifier there is no feeling of tightness and dryness. Triglycerides of vegetable oils included in the composition soften and nourish hair and skin. Ready-made hair products with Plantaquat NC not only remove static tension, but also give the hair volume, make it firmer and reduce breakage. Plus, Plantaquat NC doesn't grease the hair, and thick hair creams with it wash out quite easily.
 

How to make emulsions with lecithin emulsifier

This lecithin emulsifier is very pleasant to work with and creates good stable emulsions. Especially for you we have made a video overview on how to work with Plantaquat. Watch it in the Video tab. But in short, there are two ways to work with Plantaquat.

1. The first way is recommended by the manufacturer and is used to bring out the conditioning properties of this emulsifier. With this method you will get magical balms, conditioners and thick textures of hair cosmetics. So, for the first method, heat the aqueous phase to 70-75 C and add the required amount of emulsifier to it, stir, cover the vessel and leave it on the water bath to warm up (10-20 min. depending on the volume). When the emulsifier is melted in the water, you will see that all the pastilles are separated, add the fatty phase and emulsify with a mini-mixer, graver or other device at high speed. In this case Plantaquat NC can also be a self-emulsifying component, i.e. the addition of oils and emollients is not necessary unless your recipe requires it. This way of working produces a matte, slightly creamy coloured emulsion.
2. The second way of working with Plantaquat NC is as with a conventional emulsifier: it is introduced into the fat phase, both phases fat and water are heated to the same temperature and then emulsified. In this case, the emulsion is obtained shiny, glossy, dense.
