Plantasens Crambisol Mustard Phytosterols in Skin and Hair Cosmetics

This multifunctional active ingredient is widely used in facial skin care, hair care and color cosmetics. Mustard phytosterols are most commonly used in hair care for their ability to revitalize hair, improve its shine and elasticity, and provide conditioning. In skin cosmetics, the emollient acts as a moisturizer that protects the skin from damage and the aggressive effects of other ingredients. All-natural origin and eco-certification allow to include emollient in the compositions of natural, organic and vegan products.

Characteristics of the component and peculiarities of use

INCI: Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Phytosterols, Oleyl Alcohol.

Appearance: Transparent pale yellow liquid. At temperatures below 20°C it may precipitate in the form of crystals. To work with the component, it should be heated on a water bath.

Dosage (percentage of use in cosmetics): 0,1 - 5%. We indicate the recommended dosage of input, but the optimal dosage for your formulation should be chosen independently, depending on the full composition of the cosmetic, as well as on the presence of other active ingredients in the recipes:

• 0.1-5% in shampoos
• 3-5% in conditioners and balms
• 3-5% in hair masks
• 1-5% in permanent conditioners
• 2-12% in skin care cosmetics
• 2-15% in decorative cosmetics.

Solubility: in oil. When preparing detergents, the component can be dissolved in heated surfactants.

Storage: It is recommended to store in a dark, dry and cool place, protect from direct sunlight and overheating. At temperatures below 20°C, precipitation in the form of crystals is possible. To work with the component, it should be heated on a water bath.

But most often you can find Plantasens Crambisol in a variety of hair care products. It is added to such cosmetics in a dosage of 0.5 - 5% and significantly improves the elasticity, brightness and shine of hair, as well as has a noticeable conditioning effect.

The use of mustard phytosterols in the composition of cosmetic products for hair can work wonders. Below you will find all the positive properties of the ingredient, which have been confirmed by practical research. Natural hair strands were washed with a neutral shampoo and then rinsed with either a placebo rinse or a rinse containing Plantasens Crambisol 5%. Afterwards, parameters such as: hair brightness, elasticity, combability, strength and electrostaticity were evaluated. 

• It penetrates the cortex of the hair shaft and works with a prolonged effect, showing increased penetration after 8 hours.

• Increases hair thickness. You probably didn't know it, but 31% of Brazilians suffer from thinning hair. It is the most serious hair care problem in the country, with no clear solution.
