Prodew 600 Amino Acid Complex : a natural Japanese NMF for the skin

Prodew 600 is a natural moisturizing factor with a unique composition of amino acids developed by Ajinomoto, a Japanese company that uses the most advanced technology to develop cosmetic ingredients. The substances in the NUF protect the skin from drying out, moisturize it, promote firmness and give the skin a healthy and fresh look. There are two types of ingredients in the Beurre range: Prodew 500 - repeats the amino acid composition of hair and is most commonly used specifically in hair cosmetics. Prodew 600 - mimics the amino acid composition of the skin and is recommended for deep skin hydration. 

Ingredient Characteristics and Usage Specifics

INCI: Betaine, Sodium PCA, Sodium Lactate, PCA, Serine, Alanine, Glycine, Glutamic Acid, Lysine HCl, Threonine, Arginine, Proline, Water.

Dosage: 0.5 - 5%

Application: soluble in water at a temperature not exceeding 50°C. It is not recommended to introduce into alkaline products because Na PCA is unstable in an alkaline environment. Addition to emulsions may cause a decrease in viscosity, it is necessary to take this factor into account when formulating and testing formulations.

Storage: Store in a dark, dry place in tightly closed packaging at temperatures up to +25°C.

Preservative: The preservative Euxyl PE9010 (0.7%) has been added to ensure its safety after opening the original packaging.

Composition and cosmetic properties of the Prodew 600 elements

Prodew 600 is a mixture of amino acids developed as part of a new skin care technology. The amino acid composition of the component is similar to the amino acid composition of cell membrane complex proteins - it consists of

• 42.2% amino acid complex
• 12.2% PCA
• 11.3% lactate
• 6.7% urea
• 27.6% others.

What is NMF Natural Moisturizing Factor and what does it consist of?

NMF is a natural moisturizer produced in the stratum corneum of human skin. It plays an important role in maintaining skin moisture and consists mainly of amino acids (42%), PCA (12%), lactic acid (11%), urea (7%) and other components.

Therefore, to maintain proper skin hydration, we need to nourish our skin with the components of a natural moisturizing factor. Prodew 600 was developed based on the needs of the skin and consists of a long list of essential amino acids and other components.

Na PCA

Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid (PCA) is one of the components of Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF), and Na PCA is the sodium salt of L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylate, a natural moisturizer derived from sodium L-glutamate. When incorporated into skin cosmetics, Na PCA moisturizes the skin and reduces the feeling of tightness, and is able to be absorbed into the skin and reduce the skin's natural loss of PCA.

Arginine

The presence of L-Arginine in the formulation acts as an anchor for better skin absorption of PCA and acids. This information has been confirmed by tests which show that skin absorption of PCA and acids is much worse when arginine is omitted from Prodew. And many cheaper NFMs do not contain arginine.

Prodew 600 is just one of the moisturizing ingredients in the Prodew range, which when incorporated into skin care products, effectively increases moisture levels, reduces dryness and flaking, increases skin hydration and relieves general irritation, if present.

Smoothing effect on fine lines and wrinkles

Prodew 600 reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. In the study, the toner and cream were applied to the skin of the cheeks every morning for 2 weeks. Wrinkle score and appearance were measured using the VISIA Evolution system. Control: skin toner and cream without PRODEW 600. PRODEW 600: toner 5%, cream 2%.
