Used part of the plant: seedpods. Garden raspberry seeds contain up to 15% fatty oil, phytosterols (about 0.7%). The seeds of wild or forest raspberries contain up to 24.6% fatty oil and about 0.7% sitosterol.

Chemical composition: Raspberry seed oil is very rich in vitamin E, also contains vitamins A, C, B1, B2, PP, folic acid, phytosterol, catechins, coumarins, iron, potassium and copper salts, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, ketones.

Cosmetic action

Raspberry oil is a very strong antioxidant. Excellent antioxidant properties of raspberry seed oil due to its high content of vitamin E in the form of alpha-tocopherol and gamma-tocopherol. Thanks to this composition, raspberry seed oil provides natural protection against harmful UV-A and UV-B rays. Its natural sun protection factor ranges from 28 to 50 (established through recent research in Canada (Characteristics of raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) seed oil, Food Chemistry, 69, 187-193, Oomah D., Ladet S., & Godfrey D., 2000)).

Raspberry seed oil has excellent properties: regenerating, anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, protective and regenerating. It restores softness, elasticity and moisture to the skin, thanks to its ability to create a natural lipid barrier and retain moisture in the skin.

It has a high penetrating power, absorbs quickly and without greasy shine, perfectly restores and smooths the skin texture.

Raspberry oil helps the skin to regain tone and restore normal collagen levels, promotes scarring. Effectively protects the skin from premature aging due to its ability to bind free radicals.

Because of its strong anti-inflammatory and healing properties, it is recommended for skin prone to eczema, psoriasis, other dermatitis, as well as for particularly sensitive skin prone to redness and rashes.  It is suitable for creating healing ointments and balms.

Anti-inflammatory properties of the oil are more pronounced than those of Avocado, Hazelnut, Grape Seed and Wheat Germ oils.

Effectively normalizes intracellular metabolism, preventing the accumulation of skin decay products and aging enzymes, stimulates cell renewal processes, revitalizes and increases skin immunity, improves blood circulation and complexion.

It has a good effect on the skin as a soothing, healing and restoring agent after peeling, sunburns.

Raspberry seed oil is also used in hair care: hair becomes silky and elastic, acquires a healthy shine, and looks well-groomed and beautiful.

Use in cosmetics

Can be used both in pure form for skin care and as an additive. Raspberry seed oil is added to creams, sunscreens, healing ointments, lotions, tonics, skin and hair masks, lip balm, bath oil, toothpaste. As a sunscreen, it is recommended to use only as an additive.
