RESASSOL VPF (solubilizer)
Solubiliser and solvent for essential oils, fragrances, CO2 extracts and other fat-soluble components Resassol VPF is a highly effective PEG-free solubiliser capable of solubilising a wide range of oil components. The component is able to serve as a solubiliser even at low temperatures and does not require heating.
We don't expect a new delivery. Alternative solubilizer options can be found in this section.
Characteristics of the component and specifics of use
INCI: Polyglyceryl-4 Caprylate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Aqua, Decyl Glucoside, Diglycerin
Dosage: 1 - 6 %
Solubility: in water
Storage: in dry, dark and cool place, in tightly closed packaging.
Origin of the component and its constituents
Polyglyceryl-4 Caprylate is an organic compound of polyglycerol-4 (a component of vegetable oil) mixed with caprylic and capric acids (derived from coconut/palm). To this, two types of mild non-irritating surfactants Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate and Decyl Glucoside of vegetable origin have been added, as well as the moisturising component Diglycerin. All these components together act as a solvent for the water-based lipophilic components.
How to use Resassol VPF in cosmetics
The Resassol VPF solvent was specially created by the Italian company Res Pharma to dissolve lipophilic components in water. It is authorised for use in washable and non-washable products and is COSMOS certified. The ideal acidity level of a finished product with this component varies between 5.0 and 9.0.
Tips for dissolving oils in water
- pre-mix fragrances, ef.oils or CO2 extracts with Resassol VPF in approximate proportion 1:2 (oil:VPF)
- mix well until the components are completely dissolved and homogeneous in Resassol VPF
- add the finished mixture to water with vigorous stirring
- if the solution is opaque, you can add additional Resassol VPF
- the ratio of dissolved component to solvent should be selected individually depending on the nature of the lipophilic component.
We will now give you a comparative analysis of the solubilising ability of Resassol VPF and PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil for water-based systems. An important point in this comparison is the fact that PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil must be heated to dissolve the compounds in the table, while Resassol VPF works at room temperature.
