Mica Sericite as a Functional Filler in Natural Cosmetics

Mica sericite from the German company Merck under the trade name Ronaflair Mica M is the main ingredient used in all mineral cosmetic products. Mica, with its small particle size, forms the basis for powders, blushes and other cosmetics, improving their texture and providing the most natural coverage. In emulsions and serums, micas are used to enhance tactile sensations on the skin, improve slip and adhesion, and provide a powdery aftertaste after cream application.

Use: insoluble in water and oil. The component is dispersed in the base, mixed with other dry components or added directly to a warm emulsion.

Storage: in a dark, dry place in a tightly closed package at a temperature not exceeding +25 C. Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.

Use of Ronaflair Mica M in formulations

The presented mica sericite is a finely dispersed, colorless mica powder, which increases the transparency of the product, has a good focal effect (reflects and scatters light) and reduces visible wrinkles. When added to cosmetics, mica sericite does not clog pores, mattifies the skin, reduces oily shine, has good adhesion.

Ronaflair Mica M is a completely safe product that remains stable in any cosmetic product (in crumbles, emulsions, gels or wax-based products).

Which cosmetics can be prepared

Micas sericite is a universal component used in cosmetics for skin, hair, including eye cosmetics. With its help you can prepare any crumbly or pressed mineral and decorative cosmetics. In this case, start adding Miki Sericite from 3-5% and up to 40%. 

For lipsticks and lip glosses, add micas to the recipe up to 6%. When using Miki Sericite in emulsions and gel bases, it is recommended to start from 1% to 10%.

However, when adding micas to water-free formulations based on oils and waxes, it is recommended to introduce the active from 3 to 20%. This improves the absorbency of the finished product and reduces its greasiness. This secret is used by many industrial manufacturers of concealers and foundation sticks.
