Cosmetic properties and application of Rosa rubiginosa petal powder

Powder obtained from dried petals of Rosa rubiginosa (sweet or wild rose) is a natural ingredient with pronounced antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and regenerating effects. Dry petals contain phenolic and flavonoid compounds with antioxidant and softening effects. Recent in vitro studies confirm its potential in skin care.

The presence of phenolic and flavonoid components allows us to recommend it as an effective product in masks and care formulas for sensitive, tired and mature skin.

Antioxidant activity: Studies of Rosa rubiginosa leaf extract confirm a high ability to neutralize free radicals, protect skin cells from DNA damage, and increase the viability of keratinocytes and fibroblasts under UV stress.

Anti-inflammatory action: the alcoholic extract inhibits the pronounced activity of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IL-1β, IL-8 and TNF-α), especially when exposed to UVA radiation, as confirmed by cellular skin models.

Emollient and conditioning action: Rosa rubiginosa fruit extract is used in cosmetics as an emollient and conditioner, improves elasticity, hydration and texture of the skin, giving it softness and a comfortable feeling.

Antimicrobial action: Rosa rubiginosa extracts have been shown to have moderate activity against Cutibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus aureus, especially in combination with essential oils, which helps reduce inflammation and acne-proneness with low cytotoxicity
