Sharomix 708 - a powerful preservative for eco cosmetics

Sharomix 708 is a transparent liquid without strong odour. It is a broad-spectrum preservative and protects cosmetics from Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, prevents the development of colonies of fungi, moulds and yeasts. Sharomix 708 is able to extend the shelf life of cosmetics for a period of 6 months to a year. It is a more budget analogue of the well-known preservative Optiphen BSB-N from Ashland.

Characteristics of the component and features of use

INCI: Benzoic Acid, benzyl alcohol, sorbic acid, glycerine

Dosage: 0,6 - 1,2 %

Usage and solubility: soluble in water and oil. Sharomix 708 should be dissolved in the aqueous phase, the active phase of a cosmetic product or injected directly into a warm emulsion. Do not heat above 40 C. Effective at pH below 5.5.

Storage: in a dark, dry place at a temperature up to 25 C. Keep away from moisture.

Sharomix 708 - safe preservative, complies with ECOCERT and COSMOS certifications

This preservative consists of a mixture of organic acids: bezoic and sorbic acids, benzyl alcohol and glycerin. All components and Charomix itself are ECOCERT approved. They are authorised for use in all types of washable and non-washable cosmetics, including children's cosmetics. Sharomix 708 can be preserved for vegan cosmetics and any cosmetics labelled ECO, green and natural. Those who produce such cosmetics may well buy Sharomix in order to increase the shelf life of their products. The preservative does not contain parabens, formaldehyde, isothiazolinones and halogen. Thanks to this Sharomix is not aggressive to the skin and is approved by dermatologists. The absence of parabens and formaldehydes in the composition allows you to safely introduce fragrances into creams. The preservative does not change their flavour in any way and does not react with other cosmetic assets. However, the manufacturer does not recommend adding this preservative to mascaras, lipsticks, toothpastes and other oral products.
 

Features of working with Sharomix 708

The preservative Sharomix 708 is economical to use. Its dosage is from 0.6 to 1.2 %, which means that you will spend from 0.3 g to 0.6 g of preservative per 50 g of ready cream. It is important to note that the working pH of this preservative is from 2 to 5.5, and it can slightly decrease the acidity. Therefore, it is necessary to check the pH of the finished product. Usually Sharomix is added to the finished emulsion, the temperature of which should be no higher than 40C. But Sharomix 708 preservative can also be used in aqueous products - tonic, lotion, micellar water. For this purpose it should be dissolved in glycerine, d-panthenol or any glycerine extract. Also, this type of preservative is ideal for preserving cosmetics for colos, the acidity of which is often reduced.
