Natural plant base for preparing detergents and cleansers

Prepare a natural shower gel, liquid soap or laundry detergent with your own hands at home is very easy if you buy a ready-made base called Liquid Soap 2020 from the famous British manufacturer Stephenson. INCI: Aqua, Potassium Oleate, Potassium Palm Kernelate, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Palm Kernel Acid, Tetrasoduim Iminodisuccinate, Tetrasoduim Etidtonate.

Dosage: up to 100%

Tips and recipes for making with Liquid Soap 2020 liquid soap base

Liquid Soap 2020 liquid soap base is derived from natural vegetable oil and is ready to use. You will find no sulfates in its composition (SLS Free and SLES Free). Cosmetic ingredients, fragrances and colorants can be added to the base to create a functional finished product. If necessary, the thickness of the base can be increased by adding a solution of table salt. Sometimes flavorings can also increase the viscosity.

Liquid Soap 2020 is a multifunctional base, as it can be used to make:

• skin care products: shower gel, foam for washing, liquid soap, liquid soap, bubble bath.
• Household products: dishwashing liquid, liquid laundry detergent, floor cleaners, etc.

 
To create personal care or household products, follow these instructions

Liquid Soap 2020 Liquid Base is ready to use from the manufacturer, but you can also create a customized remedy by adding your desired cosmetic ingredients. The base can be diluted with water, but softened or deionized water (distilled) is recommended, and you can add a chelator to the water used during the preparation process. This prevents the formation of deposits and clouding of the products. When adding water to a recipe, re-conservation is mandatory. Observe sterility during operation.

The recommended dilution factors are 25%, 50% and 75% depending on the desired activity of the finished product.
Again, Liquid Soap 2020 should be diluted with softened water, deionized water. Dilution with water is not recommended for the production of personal care products such as liquid hand soap, shower gel, bubble bath, etc. In these formulations it is necessary to add color and fragrance.

Fragrance, coloring and thickening

Synthetic fragrances or natural essential oils can be added as fragrance to Liquid Soap 2020. They should be introduced before thickening the product. It is recommended to use solubilizers to introduce fat-soluble fragrances and essential oils into the base. Compatibility of fragrances with soap bases can vary greatly depending on the fragrance chosen, so testing on a small batch of product is recommended. Due to the nature of Liquid Soap 2020, which is derived from natural ingredients, the addition of some essential oils and fragrances may cause clouding of the finished product. It is recommended to add up to 0.5% of the fragrance to a base heated to 30 - 35 °C and stir until completely dissolved. 

Any pigments and colorants should be added to the base before thickening, if such is stipulated in the formulation. It is recommended to dissolve dry pigments in the base (oil, glycerin, emollients, etc.) beforehand. Liquid water-soluble pigments can be introduced into the base without sparingly mixing. 

Thickening of diluted Liquid Soap 2020 can be achieved as follows: 

• prepare a 20% solution of salt in warm deionized or softened water (i.e. 4 parts of water for 1 part of salt): heat the water to 30 - 50 °C and add the salt with constant stirring until it is completely dissolved.
• Take a ready mixture of Liquid Soap 2020 (preferably heated to 30 - 35 °C) with actives, colorants and fragrances and slowly introduce the salt solution, stirring the base constantly until the desired viscosity is obtained.
• if desired, you can add water-soluble actives or plant CO2 extracts to obtain specific cosmetic properties: 0.2-0.5% of CO2 extracts can be introduced, pre-dissolved in water-soluble oil or Resassol VPF solubilizer.
• the pH of Liquid Soap 2020 is 10.5 - 11.4. Adjusting the pH is undesirable as it may lead to product destabilization. Testing should be carried out on a small batch
