Candle production from soy wax
Soy wax began to be used in candle making in the 90s of the twentieth century and gained special popularity due to a number of advantages, namely:
- health safety: candles based on soy wax do not emit harmful substances when burning
- economy: soy candles burn twice as slowly as their paraffin analogs
- versatility: soy wax itself has no color and odor, so it mixes well with other waxes, essential oils and fragrances, as well as well accepts any colors
- lightness: the wax has a medium melting point, easy to sink in a water bath, and if it gets on clothes or other surfaces - easily cleaned with a soap solution
- environmental friendliness: vegetable raw materials that fully comply with the principles of “green” products.
Use in cosmetic products
The main cosmetic purpose of soy wax is to nourish and protect the skin. The wax creates a light film on the surface, which is able to prevent excessive loss of moisture, as well as protect the skin from the aggressive effects of the environment. With its emollient effect, soy wax helps to deal with dry and cracked elbows or heels. For the same purpose, wax is used in lip care products: balms, glosses or lipsticks.
The addition of wax in emulsions improves the glide of the product on the skin, and also increases the nourishing properties, which is very valuable in the cold season. Soy wax acts as an additional stabilizing agent in the emulsion and gives it density.
