Talc is the softest mineral in nature. It is most often found in its ready-made form: a fine, clear, purified powder. It is not felt on the skin.
Itsmain use is as a filler for mineral cosmetics. Thanks to its light texture, it improves the application and durability of decorative cosmetics. Silky translucent powder provides maximum pigmentation of shades. Even on dark skin, your colors will look saturated. In pressed powders, its skin adhesion properties are higher than mica. Non-absorbable. This means talc extends makeup time, prevents smudging, improves bonding with the skin, and makeup doesn't fall off.
In facial products, talc gives a silky gliding application, increased spreadability, a “photoshop effect” and a light glow. Its light-reflecting properties make the skin look more even and velvety.
It is also used in lotions. Talc retains its lubricity on the skin even after the emulsion has disintegrated.
This mineral has become popular as a base for antiperspirants. It absorbs grease and moisture, prevents unpleasant odors (a mixture of sweat, salts and bacteria), lays down perfectly on the skin and lasts a long time.
The second purpose of talc after filler is as a substitute for ingredients that absorb grease (calcium carbonate, starch, kaolin).
The silky finish makes this mineral a wonderful body powder. We all remember baby powder, which is the most effective means against inflammations and irritations on the skin.
After water procedures, talcum powder will prevent chafing and give a silky smooth feeling to dry skin. It also holds fragrance beautifully. Try using talcum powder for solid perfumes, scented voiles. Talc is said to be non-comedogenic and won't clog pores if you wash off your makeup regularly.
