Uvinul A Plus B is a ready-to-use UVA+UVB filter that makes the formulation of sunscreen cosmetics as easy as possible. It provides protection up to 30 units. It perfectly protects both skin and hair from broad spectrum radiation.

INCI: Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate.

Dosage: up to 15%.

Solubility: in oils, silicones, emollients. Suitable for cold manufacturing of products. Withstands heating up to 80°C.

Storage: in a dry, dark place in a tightly closed container. Protect from high humidity. At temperatures below 22°C it may crystallize, it is recommended to heat before use.

Use of Juvinal in formulations

The blended UV filter consists of two components: Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate (Uvinul® A Plus) 35% and Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (Uvinul® MC 80) 65%. This combination provides strong protection against two spectra of radiation: A and B.

1% Uvinul A plus B provides an approximate SPF of 1.5 against both types of radiation. Approximate calculations of the components used and what protection factor we will get in the finished product are as follows

• 4% = 7 SPF
• 9% = 15 SPF
• 15% = 26 SPF
• 20% = 34 SPF

There are two types of sun rays that we protect our skin from: short-wave B rays (UVB or ultraviolet B radiation) and long-wave A rays (UVA or ultraviolet A radiation).
 

Why it's important to protect your skin from the best of both spectrums

UVB rays penetrate the surface layers of the skin and are the reason our skin tans beautifully, but UVB rays put us at risk for sunburn, pigmentation, and can also cause melanoma and skin cancer.

UVA rays penetrate the deep layers of the skin, damaging its base and structure, destroying collagen and elastin fibers, and it is UVA rays that are mainly responsible for premature skin aging.

There are many cosmetic ingredients used in sunscreens. They can be synthetic or physical (such as titanium dioxide or zinc oxide). Some ingredients only protect the skin from B rays. Others only protect against A rays. Most of the time, we just see the SPF number on the sunscreen label and feel safe. But often the SPF only tells us about protection against B rays. This indicator does not tell us whether the product has protection against A rays, which is so necessary if we want to avoid premature aging.

Uvinul A Plus B (Uvinul A Plus B) provides complete protection against UV radiation of both spectra.

Uvinul A Plus B is also effective in hair care products, including rinse-off products (shampoos and conditioners).
