Amodimethicone and its applications in hair cosmetics

Amodimeticone from the BEURRE store is a 35% cationic emulsion of aminofunctional silicone polymer, which works as a very good conditioning additive for hair care products such as conditioners, styling products and hair dyes.

Component characteristics and features of use

INCI: Amodimethicone, Trideceth-12, Cetrimonium Chloride

Appearance: milky white liquid

pH of the component: approximately 6.0

Dosage: 0.5 - 2%

• 2% in conditioning cosmetics
• 0.5 - 2% in hair styling products.

Use: the component is dispersed in water or another base at a temperature not exceeding 40°C.

Storage: in a dark, dry place in a tightly closed package at a temperature not exceeding +25 C. Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.

Using amodimethicone in shampoos, conditioners and hair masks

Amodimethicone is a high-molecular silicone polymer with a low content of amino groups, containing two amino groups. It is introduced mainly into treatment products for dry, damaged hair with a high content of protein molecules. Amodimethicone enhances the affinity of protein molecules and the hair cuticle. Thanks to silicone, the protein molecule is located in space in such a way as to maximally fill all the damage on the hair cuticle, literally sticking to it.

When using amodimethicone, hair holds styling better, becomes more voluminous and silky. Amodimethicone restores damaged hair, makes styling and combing easier, improves its appearance (gives shine and splendor).

Amodimethicone also protects hair from negative thermal effects, in particular from damage when using a hair dryer and straightening or curling irons. This is due to its low thermal conductivity - it reduces the flow of heat from the surface of the hair to its shaft, preventing moisture from evaporating from the shaft and thus maintaining a healthy, "live" look of hair. To prepare thermal protection for hair, it is good to combine silicones with a special component Sepicap MP.
