Emulsifiers for cosmetics

Emulsifiers are essential ingredients in cosmetics.

Emulsification is a problematic stage in cream making. This is a mixture of two unstable phases into one consistency. Water-soluble and oil/fat-soluble ingredients naturally tend to separate from each other. They must be completely mixed to reveal all their qualities.Binding components - cosmetic emulsifiers, cream base - will come to your aid. They connect 2 phases that are unstable when combined: aqueous and fatty. An emulsion is a consistency consisting of oil, water and an emulsifier, brought to a homogeneous state.

The emulsifier molecule has a hydrophobic head (attached to water) and a hydrophilic tail (attached to oil):

There are several types of emulsions, which are divided into types:

  1. Direct emulsion (oil-in-water) is a type of emulsion in which water molecules are attached to oil molecules by an emulsifier. These emulsions are quickly absorbed, lighter and instantly moisturize.
  2. Inverse emulsion (water-in-oil) is a type of emulsion in which oil molecules are attached by an emulsifier to a water molecule. Water molecules are “sealed in the oil.” Products with a reverse emulsion type are fattier, create the effect of prolonged hydration and rich nutrition, because Water is released into the skin rather than into the atmosphere. More suitable for dry and cracked skin.

All emulsions contain 10-30% oil and 90-60% water.

The type of emulsion is determined by the type of emulsifier, because not all of them are equally universal. Emulsifiers in our store are organically soluble compounds from plant materials. Many of them have ECOCERT and are imported from Europe.

Features of the use of emulsifiers:

  • depending on the phases (water-oil, oil-water)
  • depending on skin types (based on customer experience and personal research at the BEURRE store)
  • depending on the purpose (face, hair, body)
  • depending on pH level
  • depending on the heating temperature.

In appearance, emulsifiers can be liquid or solid: plates, flakes, shavings, wax.

TThe BEURRE store presents various types of emulsifiers for the production of cosmetics both on an industrial scale and at home. You can buy them at retail and wholesale, just select the desired packaging in the product card and we will send your order worldwide. We receive all goods in original packaging with quality certificates for each batch of emulsifiers.
