Dyes are needed to give soap individuality and attractiveness. People pay attention to the appearance of the product, and then to the cost and characteristics. The design of handmade soap depends 90% on the correct selection of colors. For beginners and experienced craftsmen who do not want to dissolve dry pigments, it is advisable to buy liquid dyes - they are much easier to use and such substances provide a rich and bright color.
 

Features of liquid pigments

Liquid dyes are available in plastic bottles with a special pipette at the end. Thanks to this, dyes are convenient to use by adding the required amount of color. 3-5 drops of dye are enough per 100 grams of base. The convenience of using liquid pigments lies in the fact that the soap maker can easily control the color saturation by adding one drop at a time until the desired shade is obtained. Beginners often overdo it with dyes, but this can be corrected - by adding a melted soap base, you can mute the color and avoid an overly bright shade. Other features of liquid dyes:

Some pigments “cloudy” the base, so it’s better to choose a transparent one - this way the color looks much more effective.
Most liquid dyes do not migrate, which creates strict transitions and colors do not merge. Convenient for creating scenes and multi-colored products.
Liquid pigments are sold in matte, pearlescent and neon shades. Neon dyes have bright, acidic colors that attract buyers and stand out from other products.
 

Advantages of liquid dyes

Liquid pigments provide a stable, rich color, are non-toxic and easy to use. Liquid pigments can be water-soluble (prepared on the basis of glycerin) and fat-soluble (when the dry pigment is dispersed in oil). It is the liquid form that makes it easy to use dyes both in soap “from scratch” and when preparing natural soap from a base.
