Properties of Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate in Cosmetics

Hostapon CCG is a mild surfactant based on natural raw materials with good skin compatibility. It leaves a very pleasant feeling on the skin, has excellent biodegradability and does not contain preservatives. It is mainly used for the production of hair and body care products such as shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, cleansing lotions and baby care products that gently cleanse the skin.

Hostapon CCG has a very mild and gentle cleansing effect on the skin and hair. Due to its affinity for keratin, it leaves an extremely pleasant silky feeling on the skin and improves hair care properties (wet and dry combing, care) when used in shampoos.

Effect of Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate on foaming

Hostapon CCG has very good foaming, especially in the acid range. Maximum foaming is achieved in the pH range of 5. When determining the foaming capacity of Hostapon CCG using the ROSS-MILES method, very good foaming values are obtained in the pH range of 4-7. In formulas, Hostapon CCG improves the overall foam structure.

Application in formulas

The amino acid surfactant Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate is particularly well suited for the production of shampoos for damaged and dry hair due to its conditioning effect. In addition, Hostapon CCG shows synergy with cationic polymers and helps to reduce the amount of the latter products in recipes.

Hostapon CCG is also suitable for the production of shower gels with special care effects (shower creams, 2-in-1 shower gels) and mild cleansing lotions for sensitive skin. It is responsible for the improved, gentle skin feel that can be felt from the use of an expensive series of cleansers.

You can formulate mild baby shampoos with Hostapon CCG in combination with Coco-Betaine or GtucoTain Liquiflex. In general, acyl glutamates such as Hostapon CCG improve the dermatological characteristics of surfactants containing sodium laureth sulfate, i.e. they significantly soften such formulations. Shampoos that combine acyl glutamates with sodium laureth sulfate as a base surfactant have a reduced tendency to deposit sodium laureth sulfate residues on the skin and thus reduce irritation.

Formulations used
