Tartaric acid - refers to an AHA. A synonym of the word “tartaric” is tartaric acid. It is contained in free or esterified form in ripe grapes, old wine, oranges. It has an exfoliating, whitening and moisturizing effect.

INCI: Tartaric Acid

Dosage (% of input into cosmetics): 1-10%. Concentration of use: 1-2% for daily use, up to 5%-10% for active peeling.

Solubility: soluble in water, glycerin at 40°C.


Tartaric acid solves the problems of

  • stimulation and cell renewal; 
  • increase skin elasticity; 
  • reducing the depth of wrinkles; 
  • masking skin imperfections; 
  • even out skin tone; 
  • skin moisturizing; 
  • skin cleansing (elimination of excess sebum and dead cells) in combination with salicylic acid;
     

Contraindications

  • Individual intolerance;
  • hypersensitivity of the skin;
  • fresh skin trauma;
  • herpetic rashes;
  • telangiectasia;
  • prolonged exposure to the sun.
     

WARNING!

Products containing AHAs may increase the skin's sensitivity to the sun (during use and a week after use is suspended), and this increased skin sensitivity to the sun may increase the possibility of sunburn. NEVER go outdoors without products containing a sun protection factor (at least 15). Always protect your skin before going outdoors!

Never use acids in their pure form! Avoid contact of the concentrated component with skin and eyes. In case of contact - rinse copiously with water and seek medical attention.

If AHAs are used for the first time, it is necessary to do a sensitivity test to products with AHAs on the skin on the elbow before use.

If the first signs of adverse reactions occur, discontinue use of the AHA product immediately. These signs include; burning, redness, itching, tingling, pain, bleeding, increased sensitivity to sunlight.
