The extract is often used in anti-cellulite and anti-edema cosmetics due to its property to improve blood microcirculation.

Cosmetic properties of Centella asella extract
Natural extract of Centella asiatica or more simply called Cica has pronounced regenerating, restructuring and strengthening properties for the skin. It is recommended for use in products for damaged mature skin, because it helps to fight wrinkles and has a noticeable anti-ageing effect by stimulating collagen production and antioxidant action on the skin. Such properties are provided by the rich composition of the magic plant, which includes:
- amino acids
- phenolic compounds
- vitamins B and C
- carotenoids (derivatives of vitamin A)
- etc.
Cosmetics with the indication “centella” on the label are often positioned as anti-flushing and anti-cellulite, because the extract is able to increase microcirculation and improve venous outflow. Centella extract is included in eye creamsagainst swelling, in cosmetics to improve facial skin tone, in products to reduce swelling of the legs at the end of the day, in various massage products. Centella can increase the density and elasticity of venous walls and reduce capillary permeability. Due to these properties, it is often added to cosmetic recipes against couperosis, as well as in products to combat varicose veins and ointments/gels for bruises.
Another important feature of Centella extract is its anti-inflammatory and healing properties, moreover it prevents scarring. Due to these properties, the plant is often used in anti-stretch mark products, in cosmetics after sunbathing (including sunburn treatment), in aftershave products, as well as in cosmetic products for sensitive skin care.
Theantibacterial ability of centella extract has proven useful in prescriptions for acne, acne and to fight acne.
In hair care products, Centella asiatica is valued as a hair growth stimulant that restores strength to fine, damaged and brittle hair. It is also recommended in products to slow hair loss.

How to inject CO2 extract into handmade cosmetics at home
In order to introduce the extract into a cream or water base at home, you can apply several methods:
- Add the required amount of extract to the hot fatty phase just before emulsification. This technique can be used if you are making a small portion of cream and it will cool down quickly, because we are breaking the rule of not heating above 40 C. When making a small portion of cream (up to 50 g.) emulsion cools quickly, there is no prolonged heating and the extract retains its activity;
- add CO2 extract to the already prepared but still warm emulsion and continue thorough mixing. This technique should be used until the active phase of the cream is introduced and the emulsion has cooled;
- use a solubilizer, for example Resassol VPF, pentylene glycol or any water-soluble oil: dissolve the fat-soluble extract in the solubilizer and then mix it with the active phase and introduce it into the warm emulsion. This option will ensure that the active properties of the extract are retained and will ensure 100% complete dissolution in the emulsion;
- if you want to introduce CO2 extract into a water-based product, use solubilizers as in the previous point, but in a higher proportion. This will ensure complete dissolution of the oil component in water without floating fatty droplets on the surface.

Why buy CO2 extract
The advantages and benefits of CO2 extracts in Ukraine are related to the technology of their production. With the help of carbon dioxide from plants extract resins, essential oils, pigments and other active substances. At the same time, after the extraction process is completed, carbon dioxide evaporates and a mixture of pure substances without solvent impurities remains. The extraction process takes place at low temperatures, and all useful substances are preserved in their original form, besides CO2-extracts do not require additional preservation, because, firstly, they are rich in antioxidants, and secondly, carbon dioxide destroys all microorganisms. The absence of solvent makes the extract as concentrated as possible, and therefore provides a low percentage of input into cosmetics. And the small dosage reduces the cost of the product you will prepare.
