Refined oils
What are refined base oils for?
All base oils dissolve essential oils well, preserving their properties and aroma. The main disadvantage of base oils is their rapid rancidity (oxidation). To extend the shelf life of oils, “freshly pressed” oils began to be further purified.
This is how basic refined oils appeared. Their main features:
- Technology with several degrees of purification.
- Due to this, they have a relatively lighter structure than unrefined ones.
- They are odorless, pale or transparent in color without impurities.
- Increased shelf life
Basic refined oils have become the basis of cosmetics for hair, eyelashes, eyebrows, and nails. They also treat any skin problem: from dryness to improper sebum metabolism.
In what cases is it better to buy refined base oils?
So why buy refined oils then, you ask. The fact is that the concentrated composition is contraindicated for children’s skin, pregnant and lactating women, people with allergic and sensitive skin, and those sensitive to odors. Also, storage conditions for unrefined oils require a dark, cool room and quick use. This is unacceptable for the production of mass cosmetics.Refined oils are lighter and non-comedogenic. Only such oils are suitable for cosmetics for problematic, oily skin and enlarged pores.
The natural composition with a high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids and vitamins rebuilds our skin, resists free radicals and loss of tone. With proper selection and proper use, refined base oils will become the basis of your cosmetics!
