Unrefined oils

Natural unrefined base oils - maximum natural benefits

The closest in composition to the plant is base unrefined cold-pressed oil (virgin). There is no definite answer whether such oil is healthier than refined oil or not. Let's figure it out.

Features of base unrefined oils:

  1. Unrefined base oils are as natural as possible. They can be described by the English word “raw” - natural, unprocessed, hard. This is their main drawback. They oxidize and go rancid more quickly than their refined counterparts. The shelf life of cold-pressed oils is on average 12 months, but sometimes the period is much longer due to the peculiarities of the fatty acid composition of the oil.
  2. The presence of impurities, its own color and smell. The smell is reminiscent of the original plant. This feature can affect the appearance of cosmetics. The oil may have sediment or contain small inclusions.
  3. Heavier in consistency, more fatty. The concentration of nutrients is higher. They may not be suitable for sensitive skin. Use with caution in children under 2 years of age, pregnant and lactating women.

Where are unrefined base oils used?

If you are not a professional cream maker, then for home use it is better to buy unrefined, cold-pressed base oils.Be prepared for the fact that along with the maximum beneficial properties, you will receive preserved odors. For example, unrefined apricot kernel oil will have a nutty aroma, and neem (margosa) oil will actively smell like peas

Massage mixtures of various effects are prepared from unrefined oils: nourishing, firming, to reduce cellulite. In addition to massage, you can simply rub oil into the skin after a shower or prepare scrubs.Masks made from unrefined oils are excellent for treating damaged hair. Light oils of grape seed and jojoba are suitable for facial care, saturate with vitamins, and protect from the sun.

The list goes on for a long time. You better try unrefined base oils in cosmetics and share the result!
