Water soluble oils
Water-soluble oils (WMO) - an innovative product for cosmetics
Cosmetic water-soluble oils appeared in Ukraine relatively recently. They are obtained from natural traditional oils. Under vacuum, transformation occurs into a water-soluble form. They are transparent, practically colorless and odorless, with low acidity.
Water-soluble oils are quickly becoming a favorite among cream makers and cosmetics manufacturers, and here’s why:
- BRMs retain the beneficial properties of fatty oils. The lipid composition is identical.
- Reduce the irritating effect of surfactants while maintaining the ability to foam.
- Replaces emulsifier in some products to stabilize fatty ingredients and common oils.
- Maintain the integrity of the product in the oil-water phases and prevent separation.
- Act as a solubilizer of fat-soluble assets in an aquatic environment.
Where to use water-soluble oils in cosmetics
The use of BPM in cosmetics is extensive. This is a complete replacement for traditional natural oils. Recipes with VRM are easier to prepare because... they are 100% soluble in ethyl alcohol and water. If you make cosmetics for oily skin, you can safely buy water-soluble oils for recipes. They do not give the effect of a greasy film and do not clog pores. Suitable for lotions, medicinal alcohol-based mash and cosmeceuticals
Other lipid-containing ingredients are dispersed in personal care products. They stabilize the foam in these products and make it thicker.Water-soluble oils do not lose their emollient properties, so they work great in hair products and shower gels. Shampoos and detergents reduce the effect of surfactants on the skin. They have a beneficial effect on the mucous membrane of the eyes, therefore they are used in makeup removers, in bath products as a component of low-fat massage creams.
So, if you love natural oils, but they are not suitable for the recipe, feel free to replace them with water-soluble ones in shampoos, shower gels and bath products, in cosmetic milk, in tonics and micellar water, in suntan oil and other products. Suitable for children's cosmetics!
